ZAQA had a meeting with the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) to discuss areas of mutual interest. The EIZ delegation was led by Eng. Abel Ng’andu.
The ZAQA Director and CEO Mrs. Mirriam Chiyaba highlighted the need for the two organisations to work together to see the MOU being fulfilled and ensure that the practicing Engineers hold qualifications that are genuine and authentic.
Eng Abel Ngandu indicated that he was concerned about the mismatch between what is being taught in learning institutions and what the industry needs are. He further stated that as EIZ they are willing to provide engineering experts and professionals as ZAQA develops National Occupational Standards.
